The Nisei Showoff has been going for many years and I think started going when they first announce the last Nisei several years back; I don’t think I’ve missed one since. This year was finally the year they actually started doing construction on the lot that cause the whole “last Nisei ever” and they’ve fortunately found a nearby location from the original spot to host this year’s show. Though Nisei is typically a small show, I’ve always enjoyed the show itself as it retains to the traditional grassroots car show that focuses solely on the car builds and the community rather than the lifestyle attractions one would find at a typical car show nowadays. This year’s show took place at a underground parking structure in Little Tokyo which I rather liked because it keeps everyone out of the sun unlike previous years where it was an open parking lot which wouldn’t be so bad if it was always in the heart of summer.
