COBB Tuning recently had hosted a grand opening for their performance and prep shop in Southern California. They are mostly known for their tuning for Mazda, Mitsubishi, Nissan and Subaru performance model vehicles. I’ve seen their Nissan GTR R35 around at shows and track events plenty to know the name and the newly opened show was really close by I had to make a stop by.
At first, my expectations would have been a pretty small gathering of R35 GTRs, Evos, and STIs, but the turn out was bigger than I had anticipated. Cars were rolling through all day.
There was a pretty bad ass modified Mitsubishi Outlander sitting up at the front entrance. The aggressive Evolution-esque styling and slightly lowered stance does make it stand out quite a bit, but I did notice the wrap could have been better.
As I expected there were numerous Mitsubishi Lancer Evolutions and Subaru Impreza WRX STIs everywhere.
Amongst the hordes of Subarus, I found several first generations that caught my eye.
Couple of GTRs
This one got some help rolling in.
Aside from all the STIs, Evos, and GTRs, there were other imports in attendance as well. The famous Password:JDM Honda S2000 was in attendance.
Nice red Mazda RX-7
Along with all the cars, COBB Tuning was a pretty good host. They provide free food, t-shirts, and a raffle which I don’t see as often as I should. The grand opening was a very enjoyable an time all around.
When are you guys going to have an opening with the BMW E-90’s?
