It’s been a couple years since I went Autofashion’s VIP Festival, but I’ve been going as far back 2012 at their old location. It’s kind of a staple in San Diego car culture since it’s always the weekend after the SEMA Show and sometimes a few SEMA cars are in attendance. The event has moved around a bit over the years after AF moved to its new location which isn’t suited to host the event due to its size. It was at Green Flash Brewery for a few years until they got bought out and the brewery closed up. Since then, the event has been moved to Alesmith Brewery which seems to be slight improvement, but still has some overflow.
When I got to the event, it was fire…as in there was a raging fire nearby so that’s why there’s black smoke in the air. It was quickly put out soon after and the event was unaffected. It was mostly a nice event to check out some cars and talk to some folks I haven’t seen in a while.
