Here’s some “extra” material that didn’t fit into the main coverage pieces…enjoy!
At the end of each race day, the drift drivers always have a little fun. Here are a few track-side shots…
Tim getting up close to the action…
As part of the pre-race ceremonies, the Navy coordinates a few flyovers and a parachute demo by the “Leap Frogs”.
That brings this year’s Speed Festival coverage to a close. We want to give special thanks to Elisabeth Handley of the media crew for helping us out at the last minute, the Navy and event coordinators for making it all happen, and of course the beautiful city of San Diego…couldn’t ask for a better venue. Can’t wait for next year.
Thanks for reading…!

I lived near Coronado. Never seen this before. Was this the first year?
Nope, this was it’s 14th annual event. It started 1997.
RReally cool photos. You must have really fine motor skills. Shots like these are mechanic intensive, aren’t they?
Very cool pictures!!! It inspires me to do the same! (There is a BMW driving school in SC that I was thinking about visiting – perhaps I’ll try to do some photos while I’m there). I also have taken some photos of vintage cars – feel free to check out my posts on them and give me some feedback! Thank you for sharing, and congrats on fp!
Nothing better than shots of cool cars doing cool things, Cheers
