San Diego Comic Con is the world’s fourth largest comic book convention. It reels in over 130,000 attendees from around the world to not just the convention center, but many of the surrounding establishments that become part of the convention itself. I’ve been going to Comic Con since 2004 and after the first time, I was blown away. There’s really nothing else like Comic Con anywhere else. Its a massive mix of movies, comic books, and media in general. Tickets have been rather difficult to obtain in the more recent years, but its a event that must be visited at least once in your lifetime.
It’s been a pretty busy week trying to go through all the pictures from Comic Con along with taking more pictures. There’s way too much content to go through in one post so I’ll keep them coming along with some other events so it doesn’t get too boring. I’m positive I’m not the first one to post pictures and coverage of Comic Con 2011, but hopefully I can try to bring a more comprehensive if not at least a different perspective on the convention. There’s going to be a some celebrity shots, some cosplays, and a great deal of details at booths. So let’s get this going already.
Starting things off with the already well known Sideshow Collectibles booth every year with their displays of detailed figures and sculptures.
Couple of figures from the new Thor movie
Old school Shredder
The new breed of Predator from the “Predators” movies
Scorpion from Mortal Combat
A very large and detailed Medusa sculpture
Snake Eyes from G.I. Joe
Boba Fett from Star Wars
Several figures from Lord of the Rings were displayed in the open
As you can see, there is a great attention to detail in each and every figure
A pretty disturbing rendering of the Joker
There’s several very large scaled sculptures on display with high amount of details.
Not too far away, there was a display featuring anime style female renditions of popular American comic book characters
Some custom designed Superhero Converse shoes
Plenty of more coverage soon.
