On our final day, we went through all of the outdoor grounds, and some other areas we didn’t get to previously. There are hidden gems to be found everywhere – sometimes even in a dimly lit corner. That said, it was Friday, so a lot of vendors and exhibitors were starting to get packed up as the festivities began to come to a close – but there was still plenty to check out:
Ford’s usual playground in front of the convention center…
Previously we visited the Hot Wheels Legends Tour back home; at SEMA, the winning vehicles from each tour stop were featured…
This Chevy Vega was one of my favorites.
In my opinion, the best SEMA exhibit goes to Yokohama…
…the new Supra looks nice in Advan colors.
Even down to the wheels.
The iconic Baja Porsche.
Out back, we found this really cool Fairlane.
Here’s a 57 Chevrolet with an added crew cab, among other things…
GReddy had this awesome Jimny, complete with modest fenders and all of the off-road necessities. The exhaust was a really nice touch too.
EG6 from Hardrace, which also had some nice details…
Crazy carbon weave on this Aventador, dubbed the ‘Carbanado’…
The 2nd of Bisimoto’s 935 creations, this one is more traditionally gas-powered. Read about the other one in Part One…
This car is known as a Golden Sahara II, from the late 50s/early 60s. It is actually a Lincoln Capri that was customized and used as a test bed for various concepts in the industry, as well as the designer’s own engineering feats. The tires aren’t painted orange, they are actually illuminated – and they are a original feature of the car. Goodyear made the prototype tires out of Neothane, a sort of translucent rubber, that could pass light through. The idea was that it could potentially help with safety – the tires would light up when the driver was braking heavily or driving in bad conditions…
Lovely RWB at the RTi booth…
We headed back outside to catch some of the last light and expected to see the rollout to SEMA Ignited, however our plans were foiled…
Ferrari 328 that we later saw cruising on Las Vegas Blvd (still on the trailer)…
A really nice FD RX-7 getting ready to roll out…
Nice S13 with the Silvia front…
And just like that, SEMA 2019 was in the books.
Thanks for reading!
