It’s been a while since I went to a traditional car show where it was actually hosted inside a convention center. Though Wekfest isn’t exactly like a “traditional” car show in the sense where there’s a whole stage blasting music with import models running around and cars are judged on a point based system. I like the way Wekfest is a show that’s moved passed all the spectacle and more focused on the cars. The show is decently organized except I had some issues with getting in and out as a media. They gave me a normal attendee wristband which go me in without issue, but I came out and the security wouldn’t let me back in despite just coming out. I normally show up early as media so I can grab my shots without having to deal with the crowds, but I got most of what I needed.
So the main reason I came out specifically to Wekfest was that my cousin, Joey was showing his newly imported Civic from Japan at the show. I don’t really like to name drop Joey or anyone else for the matter since he does his own thing and I do my own thing here, but I do take an interest in what he does normally. I know he took a break for the most part in building his own personal projects so it was nice to see a new build that he really went in depth to build since his Accord in not more so than any of his other cars. He probably has some more detailed articles on The Chronicles blog and vlog on his 1997 Honda Civic Type R N1.

Next to it was surprisingly the Mintia Civic also brought over from Japan.
The Rywire EV EG is still pretty cool to see. Being in California, it just seems like a nice option for the future of retaining old cars. Hopefully, these type of conversions become more affordable and available for more cars.

There were so many nice builds at this show and too many photos to fit in here, but thanks for looking.
