This past weekend, I drove up to San Jose to check out the Wekfest San Jose show for the first time. While this show has been going on for so many years and even expanded down to Long Beach, I haven’t had the chance to go to many shows too far from Southern California considering how many shows we have already with such a rich car culture here. I remember Wekfest was really one of the big shows everyone should try to attend back when they used to have them at parking structures and port warehouse hangars. That was something of the past and now it’s at the San Jose Convention Center which seems like an all too familiar setting for cars shows now.
Even though Southern California has a expansive variety in terms of car builders, I do tend to see repeats a lot so some exposure to some of what the Bay Area had to offer was refreshing. There was some big SoCal presence there as well.
I may have mixed up the date for the show and ended up checking out the roll in and returned for the actual show date. Personally, I love seeing the roll in because it’s very different from when you see them set up for displays.
