It’s crazy to think that I’ve been going to cover the Nisei Showoff since 2009 and how much it has changed since then. So much has changed since then from the location to the type of builds you see now. To me Nisei Showoff was one of the last traditional car shows as far as the import car scene goes. By that I mean, it was one of those no frills car shows that was 100% focused on the cars and the community rather than the lifestyle shows nowadays that somehow think cars, vape, models, and clothes are some how connected. Nisei used to not even have vendors because of the size of the lot. Even though it was hot with the sun beating down on the open parking lot, it was really something special. Today, the show has really shifted toward a completely different feel including the cars. While I wouldn’t say the new show isn’t any good, it’s certainly different and maybe it was time for Nisei to make a change.
