Big Socal Euro was one of those shows I used to go to pretty often since it was pretty accessible to me. It was local, took place at Qualcomm Stadium, and it was free. To be honest, most shows are “free” for me since I always apply for media credentials and let’s be real, I probably wouldn’t even go to a lot of events if they weren’t free. A few years ago, they moved event to LA and I just stopped going. It wasn’t the big of a deal for me since the Euro scene isn’t really the focus of my content anyway.
Recently, I found out they were doing events in San Diego again from Lon, who setups these events. They have a spring event and fall event which is a great idea. The spring event took place at the Bates Nut Farm in Escondido and this event was held at Liberty Station in Point Loma. Since it was nearby the San Diego International Airport, I took the opportunity to have some planes in shots.
I arrived early enough in the morning to grab some roll in shots.
Half the show was on a grassy area and the other half was in a parking lot.
I remember seeing at pair of these custom steel bodied Porsche 914s from way back at the Coronado Speed Festival.
Rare to see a Jaguar XJ220.
BMW E30 with a half a carbon hood.

Stage area setting up in the grassy area.
A Fiat Multipla. A car made famous by getting hated on by Top Gear.
A pretty nice looking VW Scriocco.
I’ve seen many BMW Isettas before, but this is the first time I saw a BMW 600. I didn’t know they made a bigger version.
