K.R.O.P.S (Keep Racing Off Public Streets) is an organization within the automotive community that promotes legal, off-street racing via different meets and events. Illegal racing on public roads is still prevalent and just as dangerous as it was years ago – and now with the closures of nearby tracks and drag strips, fuel is just being added to the fire. Tim and I support the idea, so it’s great to see K.R.O.P.S. gaining popularity and it’s staff/followers spreading the message.
Anyways, every month, K.R.O.P.S hosts a gathering at K1 Speed. This month’s meet was at the Anaheim facility, and the turnout was great. We hung out for a couple hours and did our rounds…
PVR Motorsports’ flagship blue Evo 10…
2nd-gen GE Fit with a little hot pink accent…
A pair of very well-built E36s…
Loved this FD…even though it appears mostly stock. Better that way, in my opinion…
This was Datsun 510 was definitely the show-stopper. Looked great, and I couldn’t find one thing on it that was left unrestored. Tremendous attention to detail and an all-around great build.
VW trio. All were pretty well-done…
Sebring Silver S2000, and a Datsun Z in the background…
This CR-Z looked great with the lime green wheels.
Inside the K1 facility, I saw this hanging upon the wall. This was Colin McRae’s STI panel, from which he drove at the X Games just before his death in 2007.
K.R.O.P.S. hosted a raffle and there were plenty of freebies and catalogs from other vendors…
That’s a wrap. If you’re in the Socal area, be sure to check out K.R.O.P.S. — then come out to support the cause and spread the word. You can find more details on K.R.O.P.S., including their mission and schedule of events, here.
