strobism phase two

More strobing tonight. Getting lots of progress on how I like to light stuff. Still working on getting rid of the parking structure lines. I really hate seeing those, maybe if I used umbrellas, it might get rid of that issue. Anyways new cars, new shoot. Enjoy the pictures.

Strobism Phase One

Did a bit a strobing tonight since I got be hot shoe adapter to sync my strobes with my camera. Now I no longer have timing issues. Took a little while to figure how to light things the way I wanted to, but as time progress things got better and have a good time experimenting with the lights. After I am more familiar with the lighting in the dark, I should probably try some daytime strobing. Here are a few pictures from tonight.

Cellphone Sightings

Busy as hell these days with all my school crap going on. I try to do some stuff here and there. I got all my camera gear together so I’ll probably doing some shooting this week along with the KMH BBQ timscribbles.com is sponsoring. If you got the time, come out and get some shots.

Slammed little old school Datsun I saw in Escondido the other day. Pretty sick.

Here is one of those early morning wake ups.

Things are looking up

I just got my hotshoe adapter for my strobe sync cords. Now I can finally strobe in sync as opposed to my strobes going off before the shutter. Happy face. Can’t wait to take it out for round two. Here’s a little ad for FlashZebra who got my order here so fast. Small little site, but they did a job on my order.

flashback

I have been incredibly busy these days with school now that the semester has started. Too much stuff going on to have time to shoot or cover stuff, but I’m working on changing up the site to be more user friendly along with some other surprises. For now, I just got back from chilling with fullcoupe and did a little shooting while enjoying some Jamba Juice. We decided to go back to our old spot, shoot in the old style, and shoot the same old car.

lighting the night

I got a set of strobes this past week and I didn’t really get around to trying the them until tonight. Thing was I forgot to bring a power strip so I had to shoot with only one strobe. Another thing was they flashes were so fast, my camera lens wasn’t fast enough to capture the flashes. So I stood like 30 feet away from the strobes just so I could beat the speed of the flashes. It was literally trying to beat the speed of light. I got a couple shots that were remotely within my range of quality.

For one I need to get a faster lens and second, I need to practice some more with these strobes.

After I put the strobes away, I decided to do some of my old fashion long exposure shots. Something I am more comfortable with anyways.

LA Photo Shoot

I finally got around to hosting another photoshoot. This time, it was in downtown Los Angeles. We started out shooting at the American Apparel building until we got hassled by security so we had to move out and find another spot. American Apparel was a great spot to shoot at, but the second spot was pretty nice and secret too. Good day, lots of shots, very little money made, but what can you do. Some cars were easier to shoot, some had better parking spots, not much I could really do. I wasn’t going to be picky since I had to shoot 20+ cars in under two hours which is usually how long it would take to shoot just one car.

Click the images. Or don’t. I don’t care.

Dopest Shot of the day, no doubt. Fits are easy to shoot and always come out good.

San Diego Auto Show 2010

Sad to say, this show gets worse and worse every year. Less cars, less everything. I wasn’t expecting much, but I’d at least hope to not be so disappointed. I might not even bother going anymore. You see like a nice car here or there, but the show was so small.

Lmao. Rambo’s wheel chair. No idea what was the point of this.
